Electric Overhead Crane vs. Diesel Mobile Crane

Electric overhead / gantry path

Operating energy cost is typically far lower than diesel for fixed indoor or yard spans; zero on-site exhaust suits enclosed fabrication halls. Requires runway foundations, power feeders and a stable long-term lift envelope — best when the pick pattern rarely leaves the bay.

Operating boundaries we disclose on every case file

  • Rough-terrain cranes are not specified for soft fill with ground pressure above the pad rating without timber or steel mats; we refuse charts that ignore bearing capacity notes.
  • Tower-crane climb sequences pause when wind exceeds the manufacturer chart or when hoist-rope diameter hits discard criteria — night-pour schedules must absorb that stop.
  • ISO 4406 cleanliness targets assume sealed return lines; open-loop quarry dust sites need shorter sample intervals and may miss the <18h MTTR clock if hubs are beyond 100 km.

Application engineers will share anonymized duty-cycle logs and, on request, a free boom-pin / hydraulic sample review so your engineer of record can reproduce the assumptions before award.
